Arthur Japin and music: the connection isn’t difficult to find. Not only did the writer once sing a minor part in the Dutch National Opera; classical music also plays a prominent role in his novels.

Kolya, about a mute boy taken in by Tchaikovsky and his brother, is no exception. For seventeen years they travel through Europe with him, liberating him from isolation. Then, Kolya wants to return the favour by unravelling the odd circumstances surrounding the composer’s death. But isn’t it better to keep it quiet...?
Pianist Daria van den Bercken is of Russian-Dutch descent and made a name for herself with her Scarlatti CD.
