A unique soundscape, the musical biotope that made up the scene of Leonardo da Vinci’s life and work. This musical portrait makes for a true ode to this illustrious ‘uomo universale’, who died 500 years ago.

‘De la torre’ literally means: from the tower. A reference to the fact that during medieval and renaissance official ceremonies winds would play on towers and balconies. This made for quite the effect! Brought into the present day by these Italian wind virtuosi. Performing music from the fourteenth to the seventeenth century, mainly from Spain. It is for good reason that Capella de la Torre took the seat of artist in residence with the Utrecht Early Music Festival 2017.

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert will make use of the ‘wallet-less intermission’ concept. Visitors are asked to pay for their intermission drink in advance when ordering their tickets: the perfect solution for enjoying your company and your drink as long as possible!
