Have you ever seen those gorgeous almond blossom branches by Vincent van Gogh? The old Japanese printing art inspired this renowned Dutch painter. “I can already see with Japanese eyes”, he wrote enthusiastically to his brother Theo. Composers also liked to be inspired by different times and styles.

A refreshing look at the classics
The great Russian composer Stravinsky looked closely at the baroque splendour of Pergolesi; the Italian modernist Maderna at the crystal clear choir polyphony of the Renaissance composer Gabrieli; and contemporary Dutch composer Anthony Fiumara was inspired by 16th-century Flemish composer Josquin des Prez. Cellist and conductor Mario Brunello collects and performs the most beautiful examples of this inspiration through the ages. An enrapturing program with recorder virtuoso Erik Bosgraaf and Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos as focal points.

To keep the waiting time at the bar to a minimum, a 'walletless break' applies to this concert. You pay for your break drink in advance when ordering your entrance ticket. So you can enjoy your company and your drink for longer!
