‘A new Horowitz has emerged.’ Such praise isn’t uttered lightly by critics. But the Eindhovens Dagblad did just that when Gavrylyuk lit up the Muziekgebouw last year. The birth of a legend.

‘Can’t he come more often?’ the cheering continued. And so it happened. Gavrylyuk, a duo partner to Janine Jansen in Eindhoven, won gold medals in both the Arthur Rubenstein and the Horowitz International Piano Competition. The Times gave him five stars. Today from Mozart’s grace to the robust, spontaneous imagination of Mussorgsky. His Danse Macabre was a source of expression to no other than Saint-Saëns, Liszt and Vladimir Horowitz…
