‘I was fifteen years old and it was summer.’ A remarkable summer for Hélène Grimaud, as she describes it in her autobiography Variations sauvages, because that is when this headstrong prodigy from France recorded her first CD. Why not start off with Rachmaninov’s Second Sonata – almost impossible to play. After all, she had been admitted to the conservatory in Paris at age 13, which made her the youngest in history…

She quickly rose to fame and her star has been shining ever since. ‘Grimaud doesn't sound like most pianists: she is a rubato artist, a reinventor of phrasings, a taker of chances’, The New York Times lauds her play. The famous pianist also made a name for herself with her wolf sanctuary in New York State.

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert makes use of a cash-free interval. Interval drinks are included in your tickets: the perfect solution to enjoy your company and your drink as long as possible!
