Three young musicians, but they have already started a career. Alexander Warenberg won the 2016 Dutch National Cello Competition, pianist Yang Yang Cai the Classic Young Masters Award and Shin Sihan received much crtical acclaim for his virtuosity and musicality.

We don’t hear Liszt’s Tristia very often, but it’s one of the very few chamber works by this great piano wizard. Beethoven based his Ghost Trio on the gruesome scetches of his unfinished opera Macbeth. Anything better than Ravel’s Sonata for cello & violin simply doesn’t exist. “Stripped to the bone” said Ravel about this consice, slim but powerful music.
