In 2018 the film Wad came out. Directed by Ruben Smit, this ode to the Wadden Islands presents images of this unique and dynamic nature reserve like you’ve never seen before; from microscopic diatoms at the bottom of the food chain up to the peregrine falcon and grey seal.

And the sea sparkle, a unicellular organism that spectacularly lights up the waves of the Dutch Wadden Sea like in a fairytale. It is Disney’s Fantasia, in real life and just around the corner. Or take the images of shrimp that scuttle away to the bottom of the sea at low tide, fleeing from ravenous sandpipers. Breathtaking. This evening you will see Wad on the silver screen at the Muziekgebouw accompanied by a live soundtrack played by the 42 members of the Noordpool Orchestra. An event for all ages.

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert will make use of the 'wallet-less intermission' concept. Visitors are asked to pay for their intermission drink in advance when ordering their tickets: the perfect solution for enjoying your company and your drink as long as possible!

Wad - survival where the sea meets the land
