When the Brannon family and Bono (who we know from U2 of course) recorded the single In A Lifetime in 1995, it was an immediate break through. The single became nothing short of a world-wide hit. Clannad couldn’t perform anywhere without the audience singing along with their folk. Other well known songs, like the film soundtrack Harry’s Game and I Will Find You, are stuck in one’s memory. Clannad wrote the album Landmarks in 1997, earning them a Grammy in the Best New Age category. It grew to be one of the most famous Irish albums of all times.

Clannad’s repertoire has an inimitable strength and versatility. Folk, folk rock, traditional Irish balads and new age come together in a unique blend. A sound sweeping you off into the roughness and melancholy of the Donegal landscape where Clannad has its roots. Clanned makes music with timeless power and beauty. This is made clear by the endless popularity that Clannad is still enjoying in the year of the band’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Clannad has two listings in the 2019 Top 2000. Visit the Top 2000 at Muziekgebouw page to discover which listings we’re referring to.
Founder Padraig Duggan passed away in 2016. The original band members Moya, Ciaran and Pol Brennan as well as Noel Duggan decided to keep going and were soon reinforced with Moya Brannan’s daughter and son. Aisling and Paul became the new Clannad members. A large number of shows has been dedicated to Padraig Duggan, often to standing ovations.
Clannad was originally planned to perform in our main hall on 16th April 2020. Due to the measures taken to stop the corona virus, this concert has been rescheduled to Monday 12 April 2021. All ticket holders have been informed and given further information.
