An intensive collaboration between Barman, saxophonist Robin Verheyen, bassist Nicolas Thys and drummer Antoine Pierre, TaxiWars are a mix of lyricism, poetry and jazz with rock intensity. This is a band with a deep knowledge of the history of jazz music, and a love for the driving jazz of the early sixties on the Impulse! label. The music of Pharaoh Sanders, Archie Shepp, and Charles Mingus – full of swing, pulse, and the urge to break out of the genre’s confinements.

After a three-year hiatus, dEUS fronman Tom Barman is back with his jazz-rock infused added-project TaxiWars and their new album Artificial Horizon which came out on Sdvan Ultra on 6th September 2019. The band took their music to a higher level and added depth to their compositions, clarity to the beats and efficiency to their overall sound.

He is also half of dance-duo Magnus and, starting four years ago, singer and troublemaker of TaxiWars. Alongside his musical background, he directed the film Any Way The Wind Blows in 2003 and put together two comprehensive jazz albums: That’s Blue + Painters Talking (Bleu Note, 2006) and Living Impulse (Impulse! 2012).
