The four string players of the Echo Collective (incl. Joep Beving, Winged Victory for the Sullen) play '12 Conversations With Thilo Heinzmann, on which the Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson worked until his death in 2019.

This concert, originally planned to take place on 9th October, has been rescheduled to 17th September 2021.

Over a period of four years, Jóhannsson and the Berlin painter Heinzmann regularly discussed art, politics and their private matters resulting in a superbly harmonious string quartet. During the last phase of composition Jóhannsson asked the Echo Collective to collaborate with him on finalizing the piece during the final stages of composition. However, instead of working closely together on the finishing touches, they had to rely on their final conversations with Jóhannsson for their Deutsche Grammophon recording.

This concert is part of a format called Felt: neo- classical re-invented. Felt is an oasis in your everyday busy-ness. Felt is tangible and up close, as an answer to hurry and hype, featuring unique artists performing in a special setting. Music that intensifies and slows down time. Venues can be Muziekgebouw, the open air, Van Abbemuseum, Catharinakerk or Piet Hein Eek’s.
