Mahler - Symphony no. 1 'Titan'

Mahler was still in his twenties when he wrote this symphony and that's remarkable. It's his first and he, at this young age, makes it a sizable work featuring full maturity and a large diversity. Titan means giant, very powerful person, blockbuster - Mahler's First has it all, just like the young composer himself.
Preceding the giant is Ravel's tingling Piano Concerto in G, like a sort of 20th century Mozart, with soloist Alice Sarah Ott who we know from when she was a guest in the 2017/18 Muziekgebouw season playing Robert Schumann's much loved Piano Concerto.
To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert will make use of the 'cash-less interval' concept. Visitors are asked to pay for their intermission drink in advance when ordering their tickets: the perfect solution for enjoying your company and your drink as long as possible!
