Schubert's Rondeau Brillant is one of his few instrumental works that was very successful while he was still alive. It actually got published and received wonderful reviews due to its originality and the high level of expertise. Utterly suitable to the young Bohemian violin virtuoso Josef Slavik who had just arrived in Vienna and for whom Schubert had written the piece. Exuberant virtuoso music with a Hungarian streak.
This concert doesn't have an interval and comes together with a selection of cheeses and a glass of wine (or a different drink). Please be welcome in the foyer after the concert to enjoy these complimetary refreshments.
