Not only did he win in Monte Carlo, he also bagged first prize and the audience award at the ninth Hamamatsu International Piano Competition. He is BBC Next Generation Artist until 2021. Alexander Gadjiev is his name. The Russian chose Sviatoslav Richter and Vladimir Horowitz as his role models. ‘Richter for his mind, his intrinsic drive and the urgency with which he plays, Horowitz because he performs at the level of the composer.’ Gadjiev doesn’t just play music, he communicates: ‘A concert is an adventure, depending on the audience, the venue, the instrument and the moment.’

This concert doesn't have an interval and comes with a selection of cheeses and a glass of wine (or a different drink).
