In Otmar’s Sons, the first part of the trilogy on which writer Peter Buwalda is working, a lost movement of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 32nd piano sonata, the famous Opus 111 which is his last, is suddenly discovered. One of Buwalda’s characters – the eccentric Beethoven expert and renowned concert pianist Dolf Appelqvist – claims to own the manuscript and is preparing a world première.

The people around him are divided and doubt whether Appelqvist is telling the truth, while others endeavour to turn a profit from the discovery. What would a third movement of Opus 111 sound like? That question is answered by pianist and composer Thomas Beijer, who has made a proposal on manuscript paper. Buwalda will start by explaining how he will write about it in the next parts of his triptych.

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert will make use of the 'wallet-less intermission' concept. Visitors are asked to pay for their intermission drink in advance when ordering their tickets: the perfect solution for enjoying your company and your drink as long as possible!
