Curious about classical music? Casual Classics shows you the way. The classical concert where you can take your beer with you into the hall. Try it for only €7, a drink is included!

Would you like to know how loud an orchestra can be? How dramatic, compelliing and overwhelming it can be? To find out, you should listen to Tchaikovsky's 4th symphony! This is a symphony about fate, grabbing both Tchaikovsky and his audience by the throat. But not for long though, the last part is all about victory. This is one of Russia's most performed symphonies. And Tchaikovsky threw in some autobiographical elements as well. The other Russian composer, Shostakovich, gives us nothing but victory in his Festive Overture, like a real party!

Getting to know some classical music while enjoying a drink. Casual Classics is a relaxed and informal night out featuring some really great music!

This afternoon's musicians are all students at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, on their way to the top. We welcome female conductor Judith Kubitz - she grew up in East-Germany, was educated in Paris and London and now conducts opera's in Berlin and Bern. Last year Judith conducted the Orquesta de Cordoba in Spain, so she's a real international, this German lady-conductor.

Casual Classics, a relaxed evening with some great music!
