A theatrical lecture by Henkjan Honing, Professor of Music Cognition at the UvA, reveals that listeners are more musical than they assume. We are not merely passive consumers; we make music. And then: is musicality a trait shared by all animals; does it have a clear biological foundation like Darwin suspected? ‘Honing makes short shrift with people who resolutely proclaim that they aren’t musical.’ (VPRO Books).

This lecture doesn't have an interval. A drink is included in your ticket; drinks are available in the lobby and before the lecture only.
