Now, here’s a work of music that caused quite a stir: Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata. De Volkskrant critic Merlijn Kerkhof dissects the work, places it within a context, shows how it was composed and, above all, what makes it special and speaks about Beethoven’s world.

This lecture is Dutch spoken!

Dina Ivanova and Merel Vercammen (‘As soon as she starts playing you step into another world’ - De Volkskrant) illustrate the lecture with musical fragments, after which the sonata will be played in its entirety. Kerkhof, author of the magnificent book Alles begint bij Bach presents a musical lecture that doesn’t feel like a lecture and will immensely broaden your understanding of this sonata.

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert will make use of the 'wallet-less intermission' concept. Visitors are asked to pay for their intermission drink in advance when ordering their tickets: the perfect solution for enjoying your company and your drink as long as possible!
