Outside it is cold and bleak, but inside, in the warmly lit concert hall, you can enjoy the most beautiful symphonic music. For generations, Tchaikovsky enchants audiences world-wide with Swan Lake, his ballet about a cursed princess who has to live her life as a swan and who can only be saved by true love.

Dmitry Liss conducts this Russian masterpiece with the world famous waltz. Before intermission, the Latvian star violinist Baiba Skride (who once won the Queen Elisabeth Competition) plays her vision of Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto. This Finnish composer is most famous for writing the unofficial national anthem of Finland. But also, he is inseparably connected to the capricious nature of his native land. In his masterful Violin Concerto he brings you along on a flight through silent cloudy skies, over frozen lakes, and glaciers of ice and fire.

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert will make use of the 'wallet-less intermission' concept. Visitors are asked to pay for their intermission drink in advance when ordering their tickets: the perfect solution for enjoying your company and your drink as long as possible!
