Her debut-album offers us some strong songs in the tradiotion of Joni Mitchell, Alela Diane and Beth Gibbons. This record contains a selection of 12 extremely personal, emotional but often also hopeful songs. It's a varied mix of blues, folk, jazz and pop with Scheir's flawless voice at the center.

In her songs, Kateen tells us her personal story: growing up in a disfunctional family, reaching adulthood with ups and downs and the process of a her mother's lingering illness which eventually takes her life in 2016.

Scheir will be accompanied by her regular band: Martine de Kok on piano and accordion, Lotte De Blieck on bass and Hans Dockx on percission and drums.

Every Monday, we present concerts with singer-songwriters, acoustic bands, rootsy performers and other gems from the music world. All this as part of a series called 'De Maandag van Van Meurs' (Van Meurs' Monday).
