The Open je Oren! (Open your Ears!) series gets you in touch with young musians, the big talents of their generation, who will tell you all about their instrument and what you can do with it. And they will show you as well of course! Come and discover, with host Dieuwertje Blok, the joy, diversity and unexpectedness of music making.

This concert teaches you about the power of rapping and writing. Positivity and story-telling through hiphop, that's Akwasi's mission. This rapper, storyteller and poet is known from the Amsterdam rap group Zwart Licht (Black Light), which won an Edison in 2019 for Best Music Video. But alongside all this, he is busy in other fields too: he featured in the tv series Expeditie Robinson for instance, and  he hosts ReChill, a programme in which he introduces children - in his creative, comical and inspiring way - to the art of meditation. He has been a rapper since he was 14 while growing up in Amsterdam Bijlmer and Osdorp with his parents from Ghana.
