Caroline Shaw is a versatile musician: she is a violinist in the famous Contemparary Music Ensemble, but she's also a singer in various choirs, an opera company and Roomful of Teeth. It is for the latter that she composed Partita, a work in four movements, between 2009 and 2012, a mix of choral music and spoken word. The recording on cd won a Grammy Award and this composition won her the Pulitzer Prize for Music as well. In the third movement, 'Courante', the singers use singing techniques they learned from Inuit singers.
