Star-harpist Lavinia Meijer and New York violist, radio personality and curator Nadia Sirota are taking you on a journey along special music, stories and anecdotes by composers who are a main influence on today's classical music. After collaborations with Olafur Arnalds, Philip Glass and Iggy Pop Meijer never lets up with her search for new music and partnerships in this concert lecture with yMusic member Nadia Sirota. Since 2018, Sirota is the new artistic director of the New York Philharmonic Orchesta, having won the 2015 Peabody Award for her podcast Meet the Composer. We can't think of a better advocate for contemporary music.

This concert includes music by Nico Muhly, Philip Glass, Caroline Shaw as well as two world premiers writen expsecially for Meijer and Sirota by Ellis Ludwig-Leone and Ellen Reid who arranged part of her Pullitzer Prize winning opera p r i s m (2019).

To keep waiting times down to an absolute minimum, this concert makes use of a cashless interval. A drink is included in your ticket: the perfect solution to enjoy your company and your drink as long as possible!
