The Netherlands' most famous trumpeter Eric Vloeimans invites big band Licks & Brains for a concert with dazzling new versions of his own music. Vloeimans' compositions in a big band guise: Big, funky and swinging. “The special approach, energy and sound of Licks & Brains creates a whole new atmosphere around my music”, says Vloeimans.

The impressive repertoire of Licks & Brains is not left out either. The eighteen-piece band creates an attractive mix in which wind instruments, electronic grooves and Vloeimans' adventurous playing merge organically in pieces that move between a good dose of jazz, minimal music, soul, funk and dance. “With Vloeimans' pieces, we explore new musical paths that other big bands usually don't venture into.” So it's no surprise that the guys from Licks & Brains are wildly enthusiastic about this collaboration.
