ABOUT HERMAN VAN VEEN
Herman van Veen (1945) grew up in Utrecht where he also attended the conservatory. Since then he has traveled around the world with his performances. To this day his work has resulted in more than one hundred and eighty CDs, eighty books and about five hundred paintings.
He has been honored numerous times for both his artistic work and his dedication to projects for peace, security and solidarity. Among other things, he is a bearer of the Verdienstkreuz am Band des Verdienstordens der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau and Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw. He has an Honorary Doctorate from the Free University of Brussels. From the Club of Budapest he received the Planetary Consciousness Award. In France Le Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros de Littérature Musicale. And in Cuxhaven Germany, June 2021, the Joachim Ringelnatz Literatur Preis.
Herman is father of four children and stepfather to the Alfred Jodocus Kwak.
He is grandfather to three grandchildren.
