It had to come about, a return of the Dutch band JOHAN. Jacob de Greeuw had no other choice. There were too many pieces, stanzas and sounds screaming to be contained in JOHAN songs. 'Don't call it a reunion, the return of JOHAN. A new beginning, that's it', said the band in 2018. Jacob de Greeuw's band picked up where it had dropped in 2009. The resurrection of JOHAN was accompanied by the album Pull Up.

It is not the first time that JOHAN has made a new start. The nature of the beast wants to break free from that which binds him once in a while. Over the years, many companions went their own way. And divorce hurts. Thank God De Greeuw knows how to translate his suffering into timeless, unique pop music that is part of the canon of the Nederrock. Just like the four previous Johan albums, Pull Up belongs in that canon. Thanks to De Greeuw of course, but also to bassist Diets Dijkstra, percussionist Jeroen Kleijn, new guitarist Robin Berlin and producer Frans Hagenaars.

Spring 2020 JOHAN started with his new album. From 2022, the band will tour with its theater concert JHN22, in which songs from the new album and classics such as Tumble and Fall, Oceans and Everybody Knows can be heard.
