Freiburger BarockConsort & Vox Luminis

They work together with the Freiburger Barockconsort, which is an ensemble consisting of players from the famous Freiburger Barockorchester. From the beginning in 2004 Vox Luminis has made a great number of award winning recordings. 

It is a well known fact that Bach's music is deeply moving. Less well known is that many of his contemporaries wrote music with exactly that quality. Ever heard of Christoph Bernhard or Heinrich Biber? Both wrote extremely moving music, which has now been recorded by Vox Luminis on their latest cd. The Volkskrant gave it a five-star revies, headed "The level Vox Luminis, the Freiburger Barockconsort and Lionel Meunier have reached borders on perfection. Heinrich Biber himself was a highly accomplished violinist and he loved to show it. His touching Requiem in F minor is unique in its genre because the violin is given such an important role.
