Henry Purcell's opera 'Dido and Aeneas' lasts only an hour, but not just a mere 60 minutes, because this is no less than an emotional and musical rollercoaster. It has us witnessing at top speed the love affair between Queen Dido, who is actually having doubts at first, and Trojan hero Aeneas.

This concert is part of the anniversary concerts.

To reduce waiting times at the bar to an absolute minimum, we have implemented a cashless interval. A drink is included in your ticket, so you'll have more time to enjoy your company and your drinks.

This popular mini-opera is performed by the Early Opera Company from England. It's a small company, favourite of many critics and winner of countless awards for their recordings on the prestigious Chandos label. No other than the acclaimed mezzo-soprano Dame Sarah Connolly - famous for her unrivalled Handel interpretations - is taking the role of Dido.
