Enchanted Isle casts a contemporary eye on this landscape. New arrangements of Scottish and Irish melodies sit alongside compositions set to texts by some of the greatest English poets. Music originally written for film or television is reimagined to create sonorities reminiscent of watercolour landscapes or carefully chisled sculpture. We hope that the contrasting choral textures offered here evoke a range of imagery, from brush-stroked vistas to carved rocky outcrops, conveying a sense of both longing and of profound belonging.
