Does she need any introduction? Janine Jansen... All right then, just briefly: "Among the world's star soloists, she's as keen a listener, as adept and intimate a chamber partner, as it gets" (The New York Times).  Among the most recent prizes she received are the Herbert-von-Karajan Preis 2020 and the Vermeer Prize. A soloist as well as a chamber music player, large and small settings - all very useful for playing Mozart. He is the criterium for any musician; elegance and depth; ratio and emotion; spontaneity and balance are all required.

There will be a free introduction at 7:30 PM, co-sponsored by the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven Friends Association.

We'll get to know Mozart really well tonight. Still only a small boy in this symphony K48, just under thirteen. A wunderkind. The Adagio and Fugue stem from later years. Mozart is around nineteen years of age when he writes the violin concertos on this programme, so still really young. Number 5 is a masterpiece, the concerto for two violins shows Mozart's feeling for what was in fashion so that he could please his audience: concertos for more than one solo instrument. This double-concerto can be found on a cd more often than live on stage, weirdly enough, but it is intriguing, entertaining and very elegant.

Camerata Salzburg, ambassador of Mozart's city, accompanies Janine Jansen on this journey, being true to its name as one of the most leading chamber orchestras in the world.
