The performance finds its starting point in the musical inspiration, stories and experiences of women's communities "at the edge of the city, at the heart of society. We see a journey that goes from the harmonious power of sisterhood, past the sometimes painful necessity of the existence of these safe spaces, to a struggle of misunderstanding and differences.
Aftab Darvishi's new music represents both Western tradition and music from non-Western cultures. At this crossroads she developed an original voice. Her work is on the one hand hushed and atmospheric, on the other hand it has numerous different timbres and small nuances, giving it many layers. This allows accessibility and a deeper message to coexist. The expressive direction of Rianne Meboer, in which there is room for lightness and humor, recognizes the value of sisterhood.
This show is entirely Dutch spoken and doesn't have an interval!
