The final concert of the Storioni Festival on Sunday is dedicated to celebrities from Vienna. Two of them lived just about around the corner from each other, but whether they ever met is highly questionable: Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert. When composing, Schubert always felt as if the elder Beethoven was breathing down his neck. Were his compositions good enough? As a tribute, Schubert had been one of the torchbearers at Beethoven's funeral in 1827. Tonight's musicians have arranged a meeting as yet.
