Saturday September 24, the festival Merhaba Eindhoven! takes place in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. At 12:00 PM the doors will open. The afternoon is dedicated to Turkish culture with music, a colorful bazaar, food and drinks and fun activities for children. The whole afternoon DJ Blue Flamingo will play the best music. During the day there will also be workshops, children can get their faces painted and there will be food stands with the best food. The afternoon program lasts from 12:00-5:00 PM. Afterwards, you are welcome for a delicious Turkish dinner at Meneer Frits.



Dinner

Of course, a Turkish dinner has to be included on a day completely dedicated to Turkish culture! The dinner will be cooked by top chef Gülnur of Pure Food & Pure Taste. With her love for Mediterranean cuisine, she will ensure an unforgettable evening in Turkish spheres. The dinner will be served between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Meneer Frits and is available for €37,50 for adults and €17,50 for children up to 12 years old. Tickets for this can be ordered here.

Drum je Vrij: Türkiye

Percussion Friends, together with Veysel Dzhesur, will on this day provide educational percussion workshops with a focus on the percussion instruments from Turkey. Young and old, experienced and inexperienced, anyone may join in to experience the joy of playing percussion and learn about the music from Turkey and other parts of the world. Veysel Dzhesur was born in Izmir, Turkey, where he began his musical career. He has since grown into a percussionist with a unique profile, combining traditions and styles from Turkey and the Middle East with Western classical music.

Drum je Vrij is a successful educational project for elementary schools and is about the freedom you feel when you make music together. It's a collaboration between TROMP Percussion Eindhoven, Percussion Friends, the Van Abbemuseum and CultuurStation.


Grup Turku

With a mix of Turkish traditional instruments such as the saz and modern Western sounds of the synthesizer, Grup Turku brings traditional Turkish folk songs to its audience. The band was founded in 1998 and in recent years they have managed to reach many listeners worldwide with its hit song called Yarinimsin. The band now consists of four people with two musicians simultaneously playing and singing the saz. There is also a drummer and keyboardist. The repertoire consists of a good mix between up-tempo and easy listening songs.


A ticket for this afternoon costs €3,50. When bought in combination with a ticket for the evening program, it costs €2,50. The doors of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven open at 7:00 PM for the evening program. This evening various concerts by for example Sertab Erener and Music From The Orient will take place. More information about and tickets for the evening program can be found here.
