'Only yesterday I fished my supper out of a frozen lake, tonight I am on stage singing for you'. This sentence briefly describes the life of singer and bassist Diyet. She was born in a tent, in a hamlet in Canada's Yukon Territory. There she grew up in a family rooted in First Nation People traditions, but which at the same time had an adventurous hippie spirit mindset. Her talent for singing was discovered on the school bus, she took a music course after which she decided to make a living out of music.

Diyet & The Love Soldiers' songs can be described as alternative country, folk, with catchy melodies and stories deeply rooted in Diyet's Native American background. She sings in English but also in her original language, Southern Tuchone. She is accompanied by The Love Soldiers, consisting of her Dutch husband Robert van Lieshout (acoustic guitar, drums and percussion) and producer Bob Hamilton (electric guitar, pedal steel and mandolin).

In 2018 she released an album 'Diyet & The Love Soldiers' which received several nominations, including 'Folk Album of The Year' at the Indiginous Music Awards, and 'Indiginous Songwriter of the Year' at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.

Gordie Tentrees, also from Canada, began his career as a professional boxer, but wanted to fulfill his dreams of becoming a musician. He has been compared to Kelly Joe Phelps and Fred Eaglesmith.
