The Dutch nestor of jazz saxophone, Dick de Graaf, has been combining his innovative musical ideas with a warm and deep saxophone sound for forty years. His virtuoso improvisations resemble an imaginative architect's whimsically constructed structures. With his Quartet, he recently recorded the new album Festive with catchy, playful pieces that showcase virtuosic playing while still easily accessible.

In his own words, "I see my music as a welcoming reception room where musical elements from all kinds of styles are welcome. As long as they inspire us as a band to create surprising rhythms, hot-blooded solos and infectious fun."  In short, just the virtuoso jazz you'd like to experience on a Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Note ClubSessions stand for an informal Saturday afternoon club setting featuring big names as well as upoming young talent from the jazz and soul scene. The Stadsfoyer (City foyer) offers a great setting to combine a get together and enjoying some top-level live music.

Timetable

Doors open at 16h30, this gives you time to enjoy a drink and the pleasant strains of our jazz-DJ. 

Live concert starts at 17h00 and finishes at 18h15; our jazz-DJ takes over until 19h00.
