In 2023 the legendary band Level 42 celebrates the 40th anniversary of 'The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)' from their world famous album 'Standing in the Light'. Especially for this, the band travels to Eindhoven to perform all their songs that dominated the charts back in the 1980s.

The band started out as an instrumental jazz-funk fusion band, but gradually grew into a pop/rock band in which the leading role of frontman Mark King - in combination with his famous thumb-slap bass technique- has always remained.

Level 42 had several minor hit singles before 1984's "The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)" reached the British top ten. The album World Machine -released in late 1985- provided the band's worldwide breakthrough; "Lessons in Love" reached number one in Britain and "Something About You" at number seven in America. Their next two records, Running in the Family (1987) and Staring at the Sun (1988), were a huge success in the United Kingdom.

With Running In The Family and its associated hits, Level 42 was one of the most popular bands in Europe and the U.S. in the 1980s. We are therefore extremely honoured to welcome the band to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven!

A good groove, rock solid harmonies and a dose of accents that fly around your ears at a rapid pace, what a fantastic combination! They have already been our guests at the Blue Note Club Sessions and now they are here to support Level 42!
