Boaz Roelevink, born in the Frisian town of Franeker, moved to Cape Town, South Africa with his family when he was a year and a half. A lot of music was played at home and he soon discovered his love for country, blues and soul. Among the vineyards surrounding the house, young Boaz often found himself singing with his father. At the age of 13 and in the meantime having returned to the Netherlands with his family, he picked up guitar playing to accompany himself. After Boaz reached the finals in the SBS6 talent show We Want More in 2020, it became clear to him that he wanted to dedicate his life to music.

And so he started writing his own songs and in collaboration with more experienced musicians like Maurice van Hoek and Mercy John, he developed his skills as a songwriter. The promising result is the album 'Keep It Simple', with eleven glowing guitar songs with origins in American roots music, in which he has textually incorporated his life lessons and experiences. Things he has experienced and cherishes. About his family, his first love, his first broken heart and other sufferings. But always from an the-glass-is-half-full approach.
