BIM (the Professional Association of Improvising Musicians) is celebrating its 50th anniversary. For the anniversary year, the BIM board asked five band leaders to each form an intergenerational band and write new compositions. Among them trumpet player Ian Cleaver, who gathered a veritable all-star band around him for this project.

Ian Cleaver lives and studies in Amsterdam and New York. The music he wrote for the BIM50 project is a mishmash of all the different sounds and melodies he has absorbed over 25 years. Cleaver hopes that the American jazz tradition, which he has cherished since childhood, can be heard in his work. In addition, more recent new interests like Brazilian music are also reflected in his composition.

The Blue Note ClubSessions stand for an informal Saturday afternoon club setting featuring big names as well as upoming young talent from the jazz and soul scene. Meneer Frits offers a great setting to combine a get together and enjoying some top-level live music.

Blue Note ClubCards are available for €75 and give access to no less than 10 Blue Note ClubSessions. This means a €25 discount! A ClubCard is valid throughout the 2022/23 season and can only be bought at our Box Office.


Timetable

Doors open at 4:00 PM, this gives you time to enjoy a drink and the pleasant strains of our jazz DJ. The live concert starts at 5:00 PM and finishes at 6:15 PM; our jazz DJ takes over until 7:00 PM.
