In the land of Dutch jazz vocalists, Henk Kraaijeveld occupies a unique place.  The award-winning singer and composer disarms audiences with his warm voice and nimbleness. As a jazz "trained" musician, Henk prefers "mystery over mastery" anyway, which gives him the freedom to be led into both dark and bright corners.

 

His adventurous songs bring together his love of poetry and improvisation, inspired by Sufi poet Rumi, Pat Metheny, Bobby McFerrin and Sting, among others. Influences that can be found on his latest album Patches of Sky on songs like Patience, with its soaring melody and spiritual lyrics and Long Road, based on the famous Peaky Blinders Netflix series. At the same time, Henk does not shy away from using humor, making fun of online dating in Commonly Unique Individual Casualness and writing about a mole who wants to fly to the moon.  An exciting musical interaction, both on stage and with the audience, is guaranteed. The Blue Note ClubSessions stand for an informal Saturday afternoon club setting featuring big names as well as upoming young talent from the jazz and soul scene. Meneer Frits offers a great setting to combine a get together and enjoying some top-level live music.

Blue Note ClubCards are available for €75 and give access to no less than 10 Blue Note ClubSessions. This means a €25 discount! A ClubCard is valid throughout the 2022/23 season and can only be bought at our Box Office.


Timetable

Doors open at 4:00 PM, this gives you time to enjoy a drink and the pleasant strains of our jazz DJ. The live concert starts at 5:00 PM and finishes at 6:15 PM; our jazz DJ takes over until 7:00 PM.
