On Friday, Sept. 15, Def Americans will perform a tribute to Johnny Cash, who would have turned 91 this year. The Eindhoven natives of Def Americans know how to hit the swing, atmosphere and rebellion of a performance by this legendary American outlaw amazingly well. From Cash's rockabilly rockers, the rough-and-tumble of the Folsom Prison and San Quentin live albums and the brittle, barren atmosphere on the American Recordings. The songs that "The Man In Black" himself knew how to perform with such love and inspiration are revived on this evening.

The moment Johnny's muse and great love June Carter Cash joined him on stage was always very special. And so it is at a Def Americans show: With Kim 'Carter' Wolterink in the role of June, Def Americans concerts experience their climax with the best June & Johnny songs.


Tommy Cash
The final "seal of approval" was issued in 2013 when Johnny's younger brother Tommy Cash approached the band to accompany him during his My Brother Johnny concerts in the Netherlands.
