Pianist Iris Hond and string orchestra Kamerata Zuid already played a wonderful programme with works of Ludovico Einaudi in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in 2021. They're back this autumn with a new full-evening programme. Highlighting the Dutch premiere of Ludovico Einaudi's Piano Concerto. Besides this unique work, Iris will perform her own well-known and new compositions. For these, she collaborated with composer Xavier van de Poll, who made the orchestrations for these pieces. Kamerata Zuid will also play some great classical works by Chopin and Rachmaninoff, among others. Tonight, the orchestra is led by conductor Frank Adams.

Last year, Iris Hond performed no less than 10 consecutive times in the Main Hall of the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam with the music of her beloved composer. Einaudi himself said of her playing, "One of the most beautiful performances of my music". So it is not surprising that he specifically asked Iris to perform his only piano concerto for the first time. About the Piano Concerto, Iris Hond says: "When Einaudi sent me the music of the piece, I immediately fell in love. The second movement in particular is heartbreakingly beautiful. I naturally feel very honoured that he asked me to do this."
