Philippe Herreweghe is known as one of the greatest interpreters of Bach’s music of our time. The early music specialist once said in an interview that he approaches Baroque music primarily through singing. With the fantastic choir of the Netherlands Bach Society and a ditto cast of soloists, he will shine his light on Johann Sebastian Bach’s most beloved and brilliantly composed masterpiece, St. Matthew Passion: the moving Passion of Christ, about betrayal, loneliness, death, love and forgiveness.
