“I don’t dance to music… I dance music’ the famous Russian ballerina Maja Plisetskaja once said. And she knew, music and dance are one. This will become clear tonight.

Some of the most wonderful dance- and ballet scores will be presented. From Breakdance - with TROMP winner Dominique Vleeshouwers - to an unadulterated Tchaikovsky pas de deux. Also inviting to dance are Debussy’s sweltering Prélude, to which a famous ballet was made already in 1912 with Nijinsky, and Saint-Saëns’s miniature The Swan.

Tonight is also the night of Cellobiënnale 2018 winner Eline Hessels. On just one string, the G-string - she will be performing some almost impossible gymnastics, as if Paganini was composing a ballet. Last but not least, Oleg Fateev will be playing the bayan, a modern type accordion. His thrashing music forms a bridge to another stage which can be taken by the audience: dance!
