After two sold-out performances in Carré, the world famous Celtic folk singer Loreena McKennitt is coming to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven on Thursday 6 April for an extra concert in her tour. McKennitt has become famous the world over during the last thirty years with her Celtic folk music. Tickets sales start on Friday 20 January at 10:00 via the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven website.
The tour focuses on her show A Trio Performance. The inspiration for this show came from McKennitt’s journeys through China, Mongolia, Turkey and Ireland during which she searched for the history of the Celts. Also incorporated into the show are elements of Irish poetry by Yeats, classic poems by Shakespeare and Tennyson and parts of her work Troubadours on the Rhine, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. McKennitt is accompanied during this tour by two musicians, namely guitarist Brian Hughes and cellist Caroline Lavelle. Both have performed with McKennitt in previous tours. This intimate set-up promises to deliver a wonderful show full of personal stories.
