Bach - Partita No. 3
Bach - Sonata No. 1
Paganini - selection from Caprices
A disarming Bach
"Ning Feng stole the show with effortless virtuosity and clarity," Time Out wrote once. And he will also need that today, for a violinist cannot be more exposed and more vulnerable than standing on the stage all alone. The Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin by Bach and similarly the dizzying caprices by Paganini are perhaps the ultimate test for a violinist. It is a great art to be solitary on stage and continue to captivate the audience with these wonderful notes. The young Chinese violinist is in any case extremely compelling and affecting in Bach's masterpieces for solo violin.
