This concert will transport the audience to the emotional musical world of Russian folk music of yesteryear, full of fire and romance, of pusta and troika, passionate love, joy and melancholy. Capriccio Espagnole, a five-part orchestral suite based on Spanish folk songs, is one of Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's most frequently performed works. Alexander Borodin's second symphony consisting of four movements will be performed as well. In addition, the young talented Dutch pianist Aidan Mikdad is soloist in Sergei Rachmaninov's beautiful second Piano Concerto. Aidan is a rising star in the classical world and is a rapidly rising star in the Netherlands and abroad.

Symfonieorkest Eindhoven has managed to secure its own unique place in the Eindhoven musical landscape over the past decades.  Most members of the orchestra are (advanced) amateurs, some have received professional musical training. The musicians come from the wide surroundings of Eindhoven and beyond. Projects regularly include music companies and choirs from the region. Since 2017, British conductor Quentin Clare has been the orchestra's permanent maestro.

For the Love of Music

This concert is part of the For the Love of Music project. Club life is an important social-cultural engine of our society. We think this is important and therefore we are happy to make our halls available to anyone who loves music: creators, artists and musicians from Eindhoven and the region.
