Hackensaw Boys takes roots music to a higher level. They are constantly engaged in renewing and rediscovering American roots music. For over twenty years, they have woven together various genres that are part of roots music in their music. Throughout all those years, they have remained true to their mission: creating a bit of excitement, promoting a more peaceful world, and bringing music back to the roots of American roots music. With infectious rhythms, lively harmonies, and unconventional musical instruments such as a washboard and the charismo (a homemade percussion instrument), they create a unique sound that you don't want to miss.

With their self-titled album released in June 2022, they have blended hardcore roots instrumentals, small folk gems, and joyful roots music into a beautiful whole. With powerful, open, and honest songs, they complete the picture. After years of uncertainty about the specific sound of the Hackensaw Boys and the direction they want to take, it can now be confidently said that they have found their sound and stories in their life experiences, which they translate into music.


Support act: Timo de Jong

Timo de Jong creates Americana music inspired by the 1960s, but with a contemporary and refined twist. His deep, warm singing voice brings to mind the famous crooners of the early 20th century. Timo has performed over seven hundred and fifty times, including four appearances at Eurosonic Noorderslag and multiple tours throughout England. With his entertaining style, Timo ensures a pleasant living room atmosphere at every performance. On April 8th, he will be the support act for Hackensaw Boys.
