The St Matthew Passion, the Netherlands loves it! Betrayal, love, death and condemnation, we still encounter it daily. 2,000 years ago, it was also an issue, making the rendition of the last days of jesus Christ immensely topical. The Philips'Philharmonic Choir and Chamber Orchestra Alveare will bring their rendition to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven on 12 March, 2024. Led by conductor Iassen Raykov, enjoy the extraordinary and beautiful music of J.S. Bach.

The text is composed by picander, pseudonym of Christian Friedrich Henrici. Of course, the music is by the great composer Johann Sebastion Bach. The common thread is the story as told by the evangelist Matthew. Hugely popular in the Netherlands, but definitively a performance you must have seen.
