The Marco Ullstein Quintet was founded by vibraphonist and drummer Marco Ullstein, who is also the bands composer. The band, which further consists of Pietro Mirabassi, Emiliano Roca, Arjun Ramdas and Francesco V. Parsi, got to know each other at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. The band members hail from Italy, India and Germany. Their music contains catchy melodies and well-arranged compositions, with a distinct mix of isntrumental voices. They dynamically switch instrumental roles in each piece, creating a variety of sounds and catchy passages. This highlights the exceptional musicianship of the ensemble and individual soloists.

They are influenced by jazz greats such as Brian Blade, Gary Burton and Chick Corea. But there is more, their unique sound even incorporates eights, swing elements and influences from Marco's classical music background. All members of the band are seasoned jazz musicians, connected through their studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. The deep musical and personal bond enables them to achieve a tight, nuanced sound that brings together traditional and modern jazz elements. At the end of the year, they will record their Debut album.
