With Rachel Baiman, you discover a new dimension of bluegrass music. Violin music is her first great love, and she is particularly known as a gifted musician in the bluegrass and old-time scene. Originally from Chicago, Rachel Baiman has been living in Nashville since the age of 18, where she leverages her versatile musicality. As a session musician, band member, and producer, she is at home in many facets of the music industry. She has collaborated with artists such as Molly Tuttle, Kacey Musgraves, and Amy Ray of Indigo Girls.

While it has always been easy for her to be honest in her lyrics, Baiman's previous albums 'Shame' and 'Cycles' were indeed personal experiments in musical exploration. On her latest album 'Common Nation of Sorrow,' she has found a production style that aligns with her straightforward writing. Her music reflects her awareness of the impossibility of being everything but continually striving for new heights.

Support act: S. Lois

S. Lois (Wijtze Valkema, Meppel) is a songwriter who, like Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Willie Watson, and Sarah Jarosz, seems to emerge from the new school of bluegrass songwriters. Timeless lyrics, subtly nodding to the 'Depression Era,' with a sound that draws from bluegrass without becoming strictly bound by it. His single 'I Stopped Worrying (A Long Time Ago)' was added to the popular Monthly Playlist on the GemsOnVHS Spotify channel from Nashville, the internationally acclaimed collective for folk videos. In addition to videos featuring his own songs and covers, S. Lois can be regularly seen on YouTube with his series 'Our Guitar,' where he borrows unique guitars from friends. Guitars from artists such as Tangarine, Bertolf, Loupe, and Darling West have already made appearances.
