As an exclusive Sony Classical International Artist, Lavinia Meijer performs worldwide: from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Berliner Philharmonie. This makes her one of the most renowned harpists globally. Born in South Korea and adopted at the age of 2, the Netherlands became her home. Her passion lies in expanding the repertoire for her instrument and exploring its possibilities. She is particularly renowned for her interpretations of the works of the famous American minimalist composer Philip Glass.

In May 2011, she had the honor of meeting Mr. Glass himself, who granted her permission to arrange his five-part work Metamorphosis for harp. Since then, she has transcribed other works by Glass, including Opening Piece, multiple parts from The Hours, and the main theme from Glass's most famous work: Koyaanisqatsi. In 2014 she shared the stage with Glass for a sold-out concert in Amsterdam. Recently, Lavinia was invited to perform with him during his Days & Nights Festival in Big Sur, America. Now, the harpist enchants audiences worldwide with her groundbreaking Glass arrangements. Lavinia Meijer has won several awards and earned two gold records, while her CD Metamorphosis/The Hours went platinum. The album The Glass Effect celebrated the composer's 80th birthday in 2017.
